10 Questions with Actress, Writer & Poet NaTosha DeVon


What are your favorite’s quotes?
My favorite quote to live by is "Always be humble and Kind" My quote as an artist that I live by is “The premise of my art is to expose and heal. One can not heal if you don’t see the parts that are broken. So the exposure while brutal is a necessary madness."
Can you tell us a little bit about your business or the work you do?
I am an artist (Actress, Writer, and Poet) I began creating through my poetry at a young age as a method of healing that over the years allowed me to dive into the acting world which has been my sole career for the past five years. In essences I create art that is designed to expose and heal.
What brings you the greatest joy?
The thing in life that brings me the greatest joy is leaving a positive impact on people. 
What accomplishment are you most proud of?
The accomplishment that I am most proud of in this phase of my life is inner peace and acceptance
What is the one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
One thing that people would be surprised to know about me is that I don't really like dressing up. My makeup and the heels while I have to do it for shows and performances I much rather be bare face in an over sized moo-moo as my mother use to call them.
What is one thing you wish you knew when you were younger?
The one thing I wish I knew when I was younger is that I'm not alone in my struggles.
What is on your bookshelf?
My bookshelf is full of plays, poetry books, acting books. I will pretty much read anything when time permits.
If you could talk to three people, who would they be and why?
If I could talk to 3 people they would be my ex, Oprah, and John Keats. I would want to talk to my ex as weird as it sounds to tell him that I forgive him, that he was wrong about me, and to thank him for all the art he has inspired.
 I want to talk to Oprah because I mean who doesn't want to talk to Oprah. But I would tell her the story I've told dozens that we are connect because of the similarities in our life journeys and that she has been the example of all I desire to accomplish in life.
 John Keats, who I'm sure a lot of people don't know that this happens to be one of my favorite deceased poet who's life I've always found interesting.
Do you have any advice you would like to leave with the reader?
My biggest advice I would give to readers is embrace change, speak out when you’re happy, speak out when you're hurting. This will make all the difference in the world.
