The Author

Dr. Robert L. Lawson is an internationally renowned author and speaker in the field of self-development. He is the author of twelve books and has created numerous courses of study for Ohio University students in Chillicothe and Zanesville, Ohio. He has also been an English instructor at Gallia Academy High School, Marshall University, Shawnee State University, Georgetown Jr-Sr. High School, and Chillicothe High School. He is a graduate of the University of Rio Grande, Marshall University, and holds a doctoral degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Someone’s Child
As one stands before the masses,
One’s heart is truly blessed;
For God revealed long ago,
The mission and the quest.
His spirit was so gentle,
His voice was clear and mild;
Pour into the open mind,
And life of someone’s child.
As you walk this awesome journey,
Bestow on them your gift;
Become the wind beneath their wings,
And give them each a lift.
Help each one to understand,
The struggle from the start;
The things that matter most in life,
Must live inside your heart.
As one surveys their eager faces,
And ponders all the while,
The thought we must reflect on,
Is this is someone’s child.
We have an opportunity,
To measure and to mold;
And turn a life begun as dust,
Into a strand of gold.
No matter what the courts may say,
With briefs or papers filed,
You can always make a difference,
In the life of someone’s child.
